Cosmic Man by
Gene Gonzales and
Simon Gough
In Action Comics #5-6 (2011 series), Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert introduced readers to a new version of the Adult Legion. The story itself was pretty nuts, but I enjoyed it. And the adult Legionnaires had new costumes in the story, modeled after Superman's New 52 costume, with the piping lines and such. Anyway, these were some of the few Legion costumes that Gene Gonzales had never drawn, so I commissioned him to draw them in his latest round of "Conventionless Convention Sketches". Gene can draw anyone well, but he excels at drawing Legionnaires, in my opinion. I love Rokk's relaxed floating pose and the twisting girder. And Gene is just excellent at drawing capes. I then sent the black and white over to the super-talented Simon Gough so that he could working his coloring magic on it. I love the purple hues and effects on Rokk's hands. Gene and Simon are a fantastic art team, and once again I must thank them for their incredible commission work!
