Celeste McCauley is one of my favorite characters from the Legion of Super-Heroes' "Five Years Later" timeline. Celeste is the niece of one of the Legion's richest enemies, but she left her wealthy family to become a private investigator. Celeste first came into contact with the Legion when she was hired to investigate a paternity suit against Sun Boy. On a case searching for Legion villain Roxxas, she absorbed the energy from a destroyed Green Lantern ring and gained the abilities of that ring. Later her body was destroyed by Glorith and she became a being of pure Green Lantern energy. And even later she was transformed into a Darkstar due to Zero Hour shenanigans. Yeah, Legion stories are crazy. But I love them. Celeste was brave, smart and extremely powerful. I sincerely hope we haven't seen the last of her. For this commission, Derec drew Celeste in her energy form, flying through space, hopefully on her way to take out some Dominators or other ne'er-do-wells. I lover nose and eyes here, and man did he add a lot of stars to the background! Thanks as always, Derec!
