Description
Enric Torres-Pratt - Vampirella
Oil on Canvas Paper
13.5" x 19"

Published as the cover to Vampirella #94, and also showcased in "The Art of Vampirella: The Warren Years" (Dynamite, 2014)
This was the first Vampirella for my collection, purchased from Christie's back in 1992. Frazetta's "Girl & Leopard" (the cover to his Pillow Book) was also in the auction and I very much wanted both pieces. I had a good go for the Frazetta ... coming in second to George Lucas.

Great piece. From an investment point, you probably would want the Frazetta piece you missed out on, but second place might never have every won against George Lucas. Cool story behind you acquisition.

Congrats.

I agree ... the Frazetta piece has the greater investment potential, but investment potential is low on the totem pole for me ... of primary consideration is does the art speak to me or delite me in some way, and the Girl & Leopard certainly did and still does. To this day I continue to think about the piece and hope to be able to buy the work if Mr. Lucas ever decides to part with it. Hey ... stranger things have happened ... ;)
