Batman by
Ron Salas
This is the third Bruce Wayne Batman commission for this series that I've had Ron Salas draw, and this version is the Batman of Neal Adams and Jim Aparo. After the silliness of the 60's television series was over, Batman took a turn for the dark and serious once again. Bruce became a leaner, more toned Batman who displayed his martial arts skills as much as his brilliant detective mind against deadlier opponents such as the League of Assassins. When I started getting into Batman back issues and collections, the 70's era was my favorite. And this version of the costume, with the yellow oval around the bat symbol and the capsule belt, was the definitive Bat-costume to me for years. Ron captured this era perfectly here, giving Bruce a martial artist's body, putting him in a fighting pose, and even throwing in an awesome dragon in the background! Big thanks once again to Ron!
