Thor Pencil Drawing (Don Heck)

Don Heck did not, in my view, receive the full recognition he deserved. His style was very distinctive and this is clearly demonstrated by this very interesting all-pencil drawing of Thor which he rendered and which was recently acquired from his estate (courtesy of Roger Hill). I cannot honestly say that he was my favorite artist (although I did like his work). Indeed, I much preferred his Avengers work when his pencils were "overwhelmed" by the inks of John Romita Sr and (especially) Wally Wood. But he was definitely one of the stalwarts of the Marvel Age of the 1960s and I am so glad that a definitive book (by John Coates), entitled "Don Heck: A Work of Art", has been written about him.
