KISS Meets Momoiro Clover Z Ukiyo-e Art Promotion Poster

While I was was walking around the floor of the International Manga Festival at Tokyo Big Sight (sic) with my friend LuLu, we came across an ukiyo-e (Japanese woodblock print) dealer who specialized in, of all things, various images of Kiss. KISS is, after all,"Big in Japan!" as the saying goes, and their makeup has always reminded the Japanese of the makeup used in their traditional Kabuki theater.


LuLu wanted to know the price, so I asked, and the answer was more than a US$1000 each. I forgot to ask if they were printed with real KISS blood (if any of you young whipper-snappers out there don't get that reference, look up Marvel Super-Special #1 with ye olde Google machine), but, at that price, that ought to be the case. Anyway, this promo poster, which featured the American band's collaboration with the Japanese girl-group, Momorio Clover Z, was free, so that's what we picked up.


So, Rock & Roll All Night and add ukiyo-e and J-Pop to the fields KISS has now conquered. Wait... What's that? I think I hear Beth calling. Gotta go.
