DescriptionAs a part of working out plots for the Crusaders All-New Adventures covers I, as all good geeks do, started compiling lists of all Archie's characters. You wouldn't know it by looking at the 80's or any of the newer series but they actually have a whole mess of them. And lots of them are forgotten golden agers. Once I'd thought about trying to expand the Crusaders' universe with the Red Circle Spotlight series the idea struck me to look back to Archie's origins and play with some of those GA characters as well. It was easy to envision a new Blue Ribbon Comics series and David Bednarski was the only artist that ever crossed my mind. David's amazing design work can be found on deviantArt and he's also done a lot of stuff for Roy Johnson's Standard Comics. A+ kinda guy. I was very happy that he was interested in doing these covers.A ~ghoulishly green~ cover from David. I love the huge hulkingness of the Monster (a favorite GA Archie villain). And I like the touch of Zambini's magical energy ball being reflected in his monocle. Plus bonus points for David being able to make a palpable distinction between Zambini and Kardak. Two characters that are essentially the same person :) Original size 11x17 ------- In This Issue ... Sensing a disturbance in the aether, Kardak the Mystic investigates to find that Madame Satan is up to her old tricks again. Charged by Satan to wreak havoc amongst mortals, Madam Satan is doing just that as she terrorizes a isolated New England town. Things go from bad to worse, though, when she summons the horrific Monster from the ocean depths. Can Kardak save himself by calling on Zambini the Miracle Man for help? Read on!
