Description

They were gone by the time I got into comics but I've always had a fondness of the old Marvel Masterwork Pin-Up's. Once I got into the continuing the Mighty Crusaders comics I thought it would be a cool idea to have a pin-up or two that could be dropped in along the way. As a way to tease upcoming covers/stories.

This one features the War-Bots! The big guy model only ever appeared, as many an Archie hero/villain, in a single issue of 80's Shield / Steel Sterling comic. A kind of robot version of Marvel's Mandroids. The slimmer model? You'll just have to wait until they appear in the Mighty Crusaders to find out just what's going on with the War-Bots!

Some glorious art from TJ! I love the chunkiness to the large Bot. How TJ has the ground cracking under its weight. And the maniacal face on the slimmer, his hovering and evil face. And on top of TJ's great art there is the classic color styling of Rob Shalda! Rob was kind enough to bring some old school tones to this one. A big thanks to Rob! Great, great stuff!
