Howard Chaykin - The Shadow #2

Howard Chaykin, artist and writer on countless titles over his long and noted career, is also a fun chap to talk to, and if you do get a chance to, I encourage you to do so. He has strong convictions, but can articulate then dduperbly, as well as being a font of knowledge on all sorts of subject from the history of shading techniques in comic art, to musicals.

His style, typified in this amazing piece from a series of "The Shadow" is a sort of 1930's noir combination between Chester Gould and J. C. Leyendecker.
