Description

GIANT SIGNED SIR BAGBY ORIGINAL COMIC STRIP RICK HACKNEY AND BILL HACKNEY

DATE OF ORIGINAL STRIP: 6/27/64.

(Heavy paper approximate size: 21 " x 7 ") IMAGE 5 x 19 Pen and ink. Signed.

(From Wikipedia): Sir Bagby was a daily strip created by brothers Rick Hackney (1923�2014) and Bill Hackney,

who signed the strip R&B Hackney.

It ran in a small number of United States newspapers from March 1959 until 1966.

The setting was a medieval world filled with anachronisms and puns.

The main characters are Sir Bagby, a knight, King Filbert I, II ****
The strips are produced in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 19" x 5".
Some have been folded vertically in the gutter between the middle two panels to mail them to the syndicate for publication.
They are slightly tanned with minor handling.
some discolorations and stains, otherwise they are overall in Excellent condition.
