Description

For my weekly Spidey post (which I have changed to Mondays), I have two splashes from the pages of Amazing Spider-Man.

This is a very powerful splash featuring the Iron Spider costume that Tony Stark designed for Peter Parker when they were still on the same side during the Civil War conflict.

However, when Peter finds out that they are keeping unregistered heroes locked up in the Negative Zone, and when Mister Fantastic tells him about an uncle that appeared before the House Un-American Activities Committee in the 1950s, Peter feels that he has made a terrible mistake in siding with Iron Man. He decides to get Aunt May and Mary Jane out of Stark tower. Before he can escape himself, he confronts Iron Man, and this battle splash ensures.

Ron Garney & Bill Reinhold form a formidable team in creating this one.

Now that's incredible. Love Ron Garney and his ASM run was great - especially Back in Black. Great splash. Bravo!

This image is one of thee best in the entire storyline. Spidey using Stark's own technology to fight for liberty. The image would have been perfect for the issue cover, it's that good- imho. Just so much to like about this beauty; From the movement to the detail in the debris, it's such a creative and well laid out image.
