Porco Rosso (Fio at the drawing board)

     While checking Facebook, I saw a post of this movie poster style illustration by Crogan Adventures cartoonist Chris Schweizer. Hayao Miyazaki's Porco Rosso is the story of an Italian fighter pilot. At one point in the story, his plane, a Savoia S.21, is shot down and damaged. He brings it to his old friend Piccolo for repairs. Piccolo's granddaughter Fio is the engineer at the drawing board. I rushed to the online store to purchase the art and the color poster. I love that Chris will draw many of his subjects of interest and find a number in common with him. He says Porco Rosso is his favorite Miyazaki film.

UPDATE: I discovered Chris created a Porco Rosso paper figure set in September 2012.
