From March 2005:

This commission was started February 9th 2005 and delivered to my front doorstep on March 8th 2005.

In my never-ending search for obscure "Thing" team-up stories, I dug up a tasty little treat in the form of Man-Thing # 20 from August 1975.

In that story, demons in the guise of Spider-Man, Shang-Chi, the Thing, and Daredevil emerge from the "Nightmare Box" and do battle with our hero.

Jim Mooney was the original artist on Man-Thing # 20 and I think he's done an outstanding job with this very story-specific commission.

Finally, let me say "thank you" to fellow collector Michael Dunne for reminding me that supporting classic comic book artists is always the right thing to do.

Jim was a great talent the definitive Supergirl artist and a great guy whose sage advice influenced my decision to marry the adorable one.

Most of my "Mooney Memories are Spiderman related. I always enjoyed his work. He is truly missed! This is quite nice indeed!

Wow, that's a great reimagining of that cover! That was a fantastic story, and I love the prominence given to 'the box' in the new version.
