Description

I've been a big fan of Mr McBride for some time, and not just his work on Napoleon. He had such a wonderfully distinct, and beautiful, inking style. This is an early Sunday from 1933. Uncle Elby attempts to aid the owner of a stalled cart. From there, it all goes off the tracks. The final large panel sees Uncle Elby fleeing the results of his handiwork, the cart driver in hot pursuit! Napoleon looks on. Great storytelling from the Golden Age. An artist we lost much too soon. I would love to see a new collection showcasing The work of Clifford McBride.

I love his work also, especially from this period. His Sunday's allowed him more room, and are spectacular. I count myself lucky to have this in my small collection. The storytelling and details are both beautifully done on each page. I'm glad you enjoy this one.
