Description

Cover art for the novel The Beat of Life by Barbara Probst Solomon. The story was written in 1960, but I'm not sure what year this particular cover was published (sometime in the 60's).

Although not the trippy SF/F piece for which he is associated, it is classic Powers style (similar to his Ballantine Tarzan covers and other "literary" covers).

Hey guys, thanks for commenting :) Powers had several "house styles" he was known for. This is certainly one of them. It is also reminiscent of some of his macabre covers, like The Sundial by Shirley Jackson, etc.
