C.F. Payne: The Rev. Harry Powell (Robert Mitchum) from THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER

We bought this from Chris Payne at the same time we purchased the Stoker portrait. THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER has always been a favorite—and was one of Frazetta's favorites, too (interesting story to come)—so this portrait of Mitchum as the villainous preacher was too good to pass up. When we took it get it framed the young woman helping us really liked the drawing and asked, "Who is it of?" When we replied it was Robert Mitchum playing the bad guy in the movie TNOTH, she thought for a minute then asked, "Who is Robert Mitchum?" Boy did we feel old. :-)
