DescriptionEddy Newell is probably best known for his work on Black Lightning and for a while he was drawing a lot of pinups to sell on eBay and his website. I have a bit of a fixation with the Imperial Guard, so when this showed up in 2014, I had to have it.The art is drawn to the very edges of a 12"x16" board. Eddy used a variety of materials, so the art has more texture than typical comic art and really pops off the page. Even though it looks like it's black and white, he did use some color, which becomes more apparent when you do some hue adjustments on a computer. I've included a scan of my "colorized" version, which I used to create the Gladiator avatar that I started using on CAF in February 2022. Social/Sharing |
