DescriptionOne of the reasons I like strip art is because it offers a change in style from typical mainstream comic art. But with this Jeff Cobb daily, I was really struck by how very comic book like the artist's style was. As a fan of Film Noir, this daily also harkens back to a scene right out of one of those movies. The artist, Pete Hoffman, was really "hit and miss", as some of the anatomy such as the lack of neck on the woman in panel 2, her hand in the same panel and her profile in the last panel are pretty bad. But then in other panels such as the first and last ones, the man's hands are both really well drawn. Hoffman was certainly great at putting in all the background details, not to mention very good at spotting blacks. He also had a nice, slick inking style. Truly an enigma was this Pete Hoffman!Social/Sharing |
