Description(Acquired Februari 2018 through eBay from Bill Reinhold & Linda Lessmann Reinhold)This "Corum" design sketch was done as a color guide for colorist Linda Lessmann for her work on issues #3 and #4 of the Mike Baron scripted comics adaption of "Michael Moorcock's the Chronicles of Corum: the Knight of the Swords" from FIRST COMICS (Evanston, Chicago IL, 1987). The art was done on First Comics bristol board paper measuring 11 1/2" x 17", drawn in pencil plus black and color markers by Mike Mignola. The art is also signed by Mike Mignola. Mignola's version of Moorcock's Corum is loose and buff. Like 'German pastry expressions meet Lemmy Kilmister', or something. A real favorite of mine. The fact of this being a character sketch more rather than a published thing I find extra cool. Since Corum here seems a bit like a nifty stage prop or delicately carved puppet, waiting to go on. Plus the official First Comics bristol board is a nice touch. I'm keeping it. Social/Sharing |
