DescriptionI know the timing seems suspect, but I promise I am NOT jumping on the bandwagon with this piece. As a fan of Perkins' art for 15 years now, I always look forward to seeing how he tackles characters he's never drawn before. He recently was offered a short, 12 page story in the recent Black Panther 2018 Annual written by Christopher Priest, and given his style is most suitable to grim and gritty "street level" heroes, he took the assignment. When I saw the art, I just fell immediately in love with this piece and knew I had to add it to the collection. The feral, panther like look Perkins gave T'Challa here is mesmerizing, as is Perkins' uncanny ability to capture the grittiness of the city in his beautiful backgrounds. This splash is the final page of the story. Take a look at the extra image I've added to see how the page looks in its published form.Social/Sharing |

I love how Black Panther looks more like a half man, half-panther creature (werepanther?) than a guy in a panther suit. I'm also amazed by the details in the buildings. Congrats!

A killer BP splash for sure...love the pose and the inking is top notch. To your point, that background really tops it off! Sincere congrats!

Gorgeous Black Panther splash! Perkins really knocked this one out of the park! As you noted, T'challa has never looked more feral--Or more alive, for that matter. Love the phenomenal amount of effort Perkins put into the background here. All that realistic detail makes T'challa look more real as well. Great pick-up!
