Description

Second All-Star Squadron continuation commission in two days (trust me, this frequency won't become a habit!) - Brendon and Brian Fraim came through again with this great adaptation of the Roy Thomas-written Avengers #75 as a Squadron cover.

Unusually I knew from the start exactly which characters would be featured here - partly because I wanted to demonstrate that a Captain America figure didn't *have* to be adapted to either the Guardian or Commander Steel, but mostly because it helped with my cunning plan to feature all the 1942-era characters who became members of the JSA on the first dozen issues (plus Annual #4) of these commission covers.

In story terms - because these are getting posted in the order artists finish them, rather than chronologically, you'll have to take my word for it that Johnny and Belle don't appear in issues #68-70, but when they return from their belated honeymoon, Belle heads for the Perisphere while Johnny stops off at the JSA's HQ only to find a group of Justice Society members who think he's a traitor (affected, obviously, by the mysterious mastermind behind this All-Star War). He holds his own against the Atom, Hourman, and Dr Mid-Nite, but when the Spectre turns up, JQ decides that discretion is the better part of valour and flees, heading for the Perisphere --- where in issue #72 he'll find Belle and another JSA member engaged in their own battle. Watch this space....
