Fire Lad by Chris Schweizer

I've been a fan of Chris Schweizer's art ever since I first saw it online a few years ago. His storytelling skills are amazing and I love all of the small watercolor character sketches that I see him post online. Recently I joined his Patreon so that I could get some of those small watercolor character commissions for myself. So, hopefully you'll be seeing a lot of Legion characters from him in the future! To kick off this series, I decided to start with my favorite group of second-stringers: The Legion of Substitute Heroes! And specifically, Fire Lad! Staq Mavlen has the ability to breathe fire, but his control over that ability is far from perfect. Nevertheless, he perseveres and fights the good fight along with the rest of the Subs. I love this piece that Chris sent me, with the gorgeous colors and the way Chris drew Staq's fiery hair. And that little puff of smoke near his mouth is the perfect touch. Thanks, Chris!
