Description
One of the most definitive, iconic and marketable images ever drawn of Captain America! Created for the Marvel 1975 Calendar and Pocket Comics cover, Romita's classic Cap image was used for next 40 years on Marvel house ads, merchandise and licensed items such as toys, posters, books, T-shirts, stickers, gum cards, pillows, the famous 7-11 Slurpee cup...and the modern Toon Tumbler. I identified 40+ items displaying this Cap image...there are probably dozens more! I really love this piece beyond admiration for the art to feeding a deep nostalgia with comics, cards and toys from my youth.

Love This!!! I have a weakness and a love for these cross-marketed pieces that wound up being burned into every kid's brain in the 70's and 80's. They certainly got their mileage from this image. If Romita got paid by the use he'd have enough to own his own island. Congrats!!

So it was basically used for EVERYTHING!?  Well that's a pretty fun find!

Wondered where this piece ended up--glad to see it has gone to a loving home!  I also love this image, iconic 70s Cap and such a great Falcon too.  Romita at the top of his Marvel-style game.  Congrats!

Things like this are so cool.  Besides great art, you get the overlap with other points of nolstalgia.  Congrats on picking up a super memorable image.

Oh, yeah, that image of Cap was seared into my brain back in the day. However, it should not go unmentioned that the full calendar art, in all its 4th of July patriotic glory, is a truly special piece of art. Cheers.

Man, there's always such a huge wave of nostalgia that washes over me whenever I see pieces I used to own in other people's collections. And just to show what a relatively small hobby this is, I sold this one to the "always ready to pounce on a deal" Glen Brunswick. It's one of the most memorable Cap and Falcom images of all time, so terrific!

More impressive than the art, is you gathering so many differnet instances where the image was used.  Awesome!!
