SS 4-5-6 are in my opinion the pinnacle pf JB art, supported by razor sharp inks by Sal,  This is simply an amazing example.  Museum quality!

GORGEOUS Buscema Surfer example!  What I love most about Buscema's Surfer is his expressiveness, and this page shows that in spades--so tortured!  I was just looking at the Buscema Surfer Artist Edition last night and stopped at this page and thought to myself, "I wonder where this is?"

I still remember when I saw this page in the french translation of this issue in Fantask # 4. It was the first time I saw and read US comic book in 69. I had to wait a few months to get some original US books and more to get this specific issue, but this was the beginning. Jack Kirby was inside on the FF and Steve Ditko for Spider-Man but the man who catch definitively my attention was John Buscema. This graciousness, this unequaled  talent to bring to life humans shapes and faces grabbed me forever. I  loved this Surfer's pose on the left I copied it a few year later but of course this original piece is a true marvel to the eyes. Congratulations !

This is one of my favorite Buscema SS pages. First issue of Surfer I bought as a 12 year old. I was thunderstruck at the time. Still am. This is Marvel-magic.
