Description
A beautiful, vintage large 17 x 30" board featuring members of the Marvel universe in Jack Kirby's vision for a Toys of Tots campaign-- Marvel Mania was formed in 1969, and the published Toy's poster is from the late 1969 U.S. Marine Corps campaign. This is an early, energetic preliminary. I LOVE this early Kirby fan club related art, and a Kirby Spider-Man drawing is very rare too!

Not sure I like Doom's left hand on that boy's shoulder, but otherwise this achieves ultimate coolness.

This is fantastic, to me it feels like the King's joy--or at least pleasure--over doing a piece with this theme really jumps off the page.  Very interesting to compare to the finished image (which I love)--fun that Jack had Doc Doom in there at one point, really shows how he thought of Doom as a fully fleshed-out character in his own right.
