Pinocchio

Pinocchio is a fictional character and the protagonist of the children's novel "The Adventures of Pinocchio" (1883) by Italian writer Carlo Collodi of Florence, Tuscany. He was carved by a woodcarver named Geppetto in a Tuscan village. Created as a wooden puppet but he dreams of becoming a real boy. He is notably characterized by his frequent tendency to lie, which causes his nose to grow.

A cultural icon, he is one of the most re-imagined characters in children's literature and his story has been adapted into many other media.

This amazing watercolor Pinocchio illustration was illustrated by Corrado Mastantuono for the exhibition in Galleria-Libreria dell'Arco in Santa Margherita Ligure, organized together with the Association "Mosaico", Centre of Rehabilitation and Re-Socialization per psychic patients in Chiavari, in July 2007 and printed in the exhibition catalog (see additional images).
