Description2nd of 2 consecutive pages by Aaron Kuder I’m posting tonight, this one being the splash showcasing the return of Groot to his full size after having been baby/little Groot for quite a while! Click one page to the right to the see the lead up. And as you can see from the dialogue in the published image included, he’s back with a little something extra.I picked these pages up directly from Aaron at C2E2 earlier this year. When flipping through his portfolios this one really stood out to me. Love the pose and perspective but what really stood out to me was the meticulous lines and the ink washing. Groot is one of those characters that’s all texture, basically made up of wooden plates, so artists can really make their own unique spins on him and Aaron does that beautifully here with all the detail. He’s also recently started using ink wash on some of his pages and that, for both Groot and the background here, really rounds this out as a killer splash worthy of the key moment! Check Aaron’s work out if you haven’t! He’s been named as one of Marvel’s new crop of Young Guns with good reason! Thank for the pages, man! Social/Sharing |

Stunning! Biggest & baddest image of Groot I've ever seen. Not only can he talk, but he's pretty darn eloquent. Love the glowing eyes on the colorized comic book page.

You and Paul P said the same thing in this being the best Groot ever and I'm included to agree - no bias, of course ;) At minimum this is definitely right up there at/near the top! And you're absolutely right about Aaron killing it recently - your Venom piece is a great example! Thanks for the comments, all!

Love depictions of Groot, and I have recently become an admirer of Kuder. That makes this the best of all worlds. Really great image. Congrats.
