Porcupine Pete by Chris Schweizer

We continue to explore the membership of the Legion of Substitute Heroes in my series of watercolor commissions from Chris Schweizer's Patreon rewards. For this one, I asked Chris to draw Peter Dursin aka Porcupine Pete. Poor old Pete tried out for membership in the Legion of Super-Heroes years ago, but was rejected because he could not control the direction of his quills when he shot them out from his body. Undeterred, Peter joined the Subs and served with them for many years. Everyone has their own way of drawing Pete's quills, and Chris is no exception. I really dug how he showed that Pete is indeed completely covered in quills, and the ones on his face help to show just how awkward life can be for Pete. He's got to be really careful when kissing someone! As always, big thanks to Chris for these excellent commissions!
