Published circa 1935-1940 in the English magazine, Britannia & Eve.

In legend Florinda was the daughter of a Count Julian. There is no evidence that either actually existed, and throughout history the legends use several different names for Florinda. Roderick was in fact the last Visigoth King in Spain. According to various legends Roderick either raped Florinda, or Florinda seduced Roderick. As a consequence, Count Julian colluded with the Umayyad forces to invade Spain.
