DescriptionBack in the last century(!), before anyone had even heard of the internet, UK comics conventions were mostly organised to give fans a rare opportunity to meet the writers and artists whose work they obsessed about. Being in my teens in the early 80s I was fortunate to meet a number of my comics heroes, who signed books, chatted, and often in the case of artists, obliged a polite request for a character sketch. I met David Lloyd at one such convention and even though I had been enjoying V for Vendetta in Warrior magazine, I was a bigger fan of a strip he'd drawn previously for Marvel UK called Nightraven. But V has a habit of getting under your skin and when David asked me what character I'd like him to draw, I said 'V'.30+ years later I still reckon I made the right choice. Social/Sharing |
