Karate Kid vs. Echo by Fabian Lelay & Simon Gough

I discovered Fabian Lelay's art through Twitter and I quickly became a fan of his style. And once I checked out his interior work on Jade Street Protection Services and We Are The Danger, I saw that Fabian has fantastic storytelling skills and is awesome at drawing facial expressions. So yeah, I had to get a commissions from him. Fabian suggested Echo as the opponent that he'd like to draw for Karate Kid, and I thought that was a fabulous idea! A short time time later, Fabian sent me this beauty! I love how Fabian conveyed the motion here and Echo's awesome kick. I then sent this over to Simon Gough and he worked his coloring magic on it, adding gorgeous tones and shading to really enhance the piece. Big thanks to Fabian and Simon for their incredible work!

Maya Lopez has photographic reflexes that are very similar to Taskmaster's abilities, and she has the same fighting skills as many of Marvel's best martial artists. But much like Taskmaster and his daughter(?) Finesse, I think that Echo will be overwhelmed by Val Armorr's breadth of knowledge of different fighting styles. Val has mastered skills that haven't been developed yet in the present day, and many that are from alien species. So yeah, Val would eventually beat her. But Echo would learn those new skills as he used them, so he'd be in trouble in a rematch!
