Karate Kid vs. Spawn by Tom Reilly and Simon Gough

I first saw Tom Reilly's art on Twitter, and I was immediately impressed. His figures look amazing and his storytelling skills are fantastic. I then saw many commissions from Tom that he was drawing for some lucky collectors, and I knew that I wanted one for myself. I asked Tom about drawing a "Karate Kid vs." commission, and he was all for it, even suggesting Spawn as the opponent, a character that I would not have thought to suggest myself. But man, I'm glad that Tom picked ol' Al Simmons, because he did an amazing job drawing him! I love how Spawn is using his cape to attack Val, not knowing that Karate Kid can karate chop that cape into pieces! I also really dig the grey tones that Tom used on Spawn's cape. I sent this over to Simon Gough, and though I always knew that Simon was great at coloring Karate Kid, I had no idea of how great he is at coloring Spawn! The cape and the glowing green eyes are just awesome. Big thanks to both Tom and Simon for their incredible work!

This would be a weird fight. Val Armorr is a much better fighter that Al Simmons, but Al's variety of powers would frustrate Val quite a bit. Karate Kid needs to get close enough to have a chance to knock Spawn out, but Spawn's suit and powers will do a good job of keeping Karate Kid at a distance. Val's Legion Flight Ring would definitely help him out, and maybe he can come in from above fast enough for a knockout blow. But yes, this is a strange one.
