Spider-Boy by
Nate Stockman and
Simon Gough
Spider-Boy is a character in the Amalgam Universe, and he is a combination of Superboy and Spider-Man. He is a member of the Legion of Galactic Guardians 2099. Both Amalgam comics that featured Spider-Boy are fantastic, but the Spider-Boy Team-Up comic is my favorite, mostly because of the Amalgam versions of the Legion. If you've never read those issues, I urge you to go find them. Anywho, Spider-Boy is one of those rare "almost but not quite a Legionnaire" characters that I've wanted to get a commission of for quite some time, and I knew that Nate Stockman would do an excellent job with him. And I was right! The angle, the city, the folds in his clothes, and those gorgeous grey tones all combine to make this an incredible drawing. Then I sent the original over to Simon Gough and let him work his coloring wizardry. Simon really makes Spider-Boy pop here with his bright colors in contrast with the background. Honestly, I think that everything Simon colors is just gorgeous. As usual, I highly recommend both Nate and Simon for everyone's commission needs, and I cannot thank them enough for the efforts they put into each and every one of these commissions.
If you like this piece, then by all means go buy some of Nate's comics.
