Description

The word 'Grail' is typically used to refer to a page from a favorite published comic that you've acquired, or a page from a favorite artist you've purchased. But ever since I was a lad of 12 years and picked up DC Limited Collectors Edition C-44, I became enamored with the iconic cover.

Designed by Carmine Infantino and painted by the mysterious Wally Fax, it became for a generation the definitive version of the character.

The original art hung in the DC offices for years and purchasing it was impossible. As the years piled on I searched for just the right artist to re-create the image. I hope you agree that I found the right one in the incredible John Watson.

Painted in oils with dimensions of 19 x 13, it's simply SPECTACULAR!

Elsewhere in my collection you'll find a re-creation of the classic HJ Ward Superman image that also hung on the DC offices walls. It's a real kick that I have them both hanging on a wall in my house. (Pic included)

The artist signed the art on the back as to not disturb the image itself.

So for me, this qualifies as a grail for sure. Love it so much.
