Kent Shakespeare,
Laurel Kent,
Superman,
Supergirl,
Superboy and
Superboy by
Brendon and Brian Fraim
I've been wanting a commission of the Kryptonian Legion characters for a while now, and I've also wanted a color commission from the Fraims for a while, so I put these two wants together and thus, was an awesome piece of art created! Everyone knows that Kal-El aka Clark Kent was invited to join the Legion of Super-Heroes in their first appearance, back when he went by "Superboy". However, his cousin Supergirl was actually the first Kryptonian to join the Legion. Superman's descendant Laurel Kent joined the Legion Academy, but so far she has never actually joined the Legion proper. Clark's other descendant, Kent Shakespeare, did officially become a Legionnaire in the "Five Years Later" timeline. Kon-El aka Conner Kent, who is a hybrid clone of Superman, also joined the Legion and served on the team for a short time. And finally, Jon Kent, the son of Superman and the newest Superboy, just recently joined the newest version of the Legion of Super-Heroes. We'll probably never see this team-up in an actual published comic, but I think that it would be awesome if we did. I had the Fraims draw Conner and Supergirl in their Kingdom Come Legionnaire costumes, and Laurel and Kent in their Superwoman and Superman of the 31st Century costumes, because those have only been seen a couple times, and I think they look great. The Fraims did a fantastic job here. I love the layout, the background and those gorgeous colors! Brendon and Brian always deliver excellent work, and I cannot recommend them highly enough for commissions.
If you like this piece then please do go buy some books featuring Brendon and Brian's work in either physical or digital format and/or go commission them yourself.
