Karate Kid vs. Gorilla-Man by Jeff Parker and Simon Gough

I think that I first saw Jeff Parker's work in an issue of Robin, though I could be wrong. Not long afterwards, I saw people talking online about Jeff's graphic novel The Interman, and I knew that I needed to check it out. Lucky me, I got to meet Jeff at a convention and buy a copy from the man himself, and he even sketched in it! And it was my second ever convention sketch! Anyway, The Interman was awesome, and I have been following Jeff's work ever since. One of my favorite comics that Jeff wrote is Agents of Atlas. That book was pure fun and Jeff made me fall in love with those characters. So when I finally commissioned Jeff for a "Karate Kid vs." piece, I just had to suggest Ken Hale AKA Gorilla-Man as the opponent. And Jeff delivered this awesome, fun commission that I could not be happier with! It looks like Ken has snuck up on Val for this tussle, not even giving Karate Kid time to put his boots on! I love Gorilla-Man's face here, both characters' hair, and the flow of Val Armorr's clothes. I sent this one over to Simon Gough to see if he could somehow make this commission look even better, and 'lo and behold, he did! Gorilla-Man looks fantastic and his shirt looks amazing with those colors! I also really dig Simon's choice on the background colors. So yeah, big thanks to Jeff and Simon on this one!

Ken Hale is super-strong and an excellent fighter who can use his feet as an extra set of hands if he needs to. So yeah, Val will have his hands full with this fight. But I think that even the mighty Gorilla-Man will eventually fall to Karate Kid's over-the-top martial arts skills, and then Jimmy Woo will offer Val a membership in the Agents of Atlas.
