Thanks for the congrats, and thanks too for not bidding ... I definitely had plenty of competition already. I do loan out pieces from the collection for museum shows, so hopefully you will get to see her in person some day ... :)

I've been the runner-up in several auctions as well so know the feeling; but if I ever decide to part with the painting you will be the first person I contact. You have a great collection (I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite you have so many wonderful pieces) so I know Lady and Tiger would be going to another good home ... ;)

Fantastic!!!! I love Dan's Smith artwork, Mark Schultz turned me onto him. I have a nice inked piece by Dan. THis is one of the most detailed piece I have seen by Dan. Do you know where is was published? Major Congrats!!!!

Thanks for the Congrats Brian ... much appreciated. As nice as the image appeared on the Heritage site I was even more delighted with the piece when it arrived and I saw it in person. It's a beautiful commanding painting, with unbelievably vivid colors for a piece that is close to a 100 years in age.

I do not know how the work was utilized ... I am assuming as a magazine cover, but it may have been a personal piece. If I find out more about the painting I will let you know.
