Description
There is easily recognised 3 artists who have had impact into Carl Barks' production and style, they are Hal Foster, Alex Raymond and George McManus. Guess from where Barks got inspiration using so much silhouettes in his artwork? ;-)

I really like this George McManus' Bringing Up Father -daily once there is not just 1 but 2 links into Carl Barks' stories. The 2nd one is the idea reaching a high mountain. Barks used that in the Old Demon Tooth (Money Stairs) story, published in Walt Disney's Comics & Stories #157, created it in January 1953.

This BUF was published in September 28th 1939.
Unfortunately it was very sad day then, only later it was realised why, once then Germany and the Soviet Union signed the German-Soviet Frontier Treaty, amending a secret clause in the Molotov - Ribbentrop Pact.
