Description
My first exposure to the Legion was via the small Superboy and the Legion paperback published by Tempo Books in 1977. This was one of the stories reprinted, so I was delighted to be able to pickup a nice page in 2020.

This story from 1970 featured the first appearance of Saturn Girl's bikini costume designed by Kim Metzger, who would later go on to be a columnist and editor for Comics Buyers' Guide. This period was sort of a bridge between the classic 60's Legion stories and the modernized 70's version by Cockrum and Grell.

While Mortimer and Abel aren't fan favorites, I really like the layout and I've always been fond of Abel's high contrast inking style.

My very first page was a Mortmer and Abel, so like Dewey, I disagree, it was this fan's favorite. Great page, thanks for posting it. We've missed you . Welcome Back

All the lady heroes started wearing thigh-high boots in the 70s.

You are so right, Abel's inks provide great contrasts
