Great Superman page. There is a lot of ugliness in competition. Still fun to look at.
I don't collect Superman art per se but that in no way means I can't appreciate a killer page! Big congrats, man - definitely an indicative Supes example, with the transformation to the big bottom splash. Love how he's subtly breaking panel. That image has got a Swan vibe, but with a Saviuk twist :) Always like seeing his work on CAF!
Bravo on both an amazing page and also your awesome description --- love your commentary on how we must never forget the 'fun' factor when collecting art. And yeah, even after years and years of Clark-to-Superman-back-to-Clark moments, there are still new "behind the scenes" things to learn. How fun!!

I absolutely love this wonderful page.
Not very fond of those two artists but yes, this is a nice splashy page.
But I wanted to add that I find this no competing attitude very wise and a good approach to art collecting, especially in this hobby where we are all basically flashing our...in front of other collectors (and we are all culpabe of it, otherwise we would not be on CAF even if some are more "sharing" in their approach and time giving than others). Because let's be frank, if it is not obviously expensive, not a golden/silver/bronze age Marvel or DC cover or splash OR a menacing Batman covered in shadows on a gargoyle, few will care.
That being said, I know that if I want a nice Grummett page, I have you to consider as potential competitor ;p

I absolutely agree with your reasons for picking up this page. I have always thought the same way that the characters sometimes outshine the artist.
When I was looking for a Superman page, I went looking for something similar. When people come over this is hanging up. No one outside of comic collectors know who Jack Kirby is from Todd McFarlane. They do know an iconic Superman page when they see one though. I picked this up for the same reason... up up and away.
Cool to see someone with a similar mindset in collecting these types of pages.

You have an awesome taste in pages. This is a great example of Superman - who cares if it isn't the "usual suspects" of artists? This is still really really great! :)
You could probably believe he can tuck his clothes in the pouch, but his shoes too?
Also, he's going to have to do some super ironing when he changes back to Clark. :)
Breathtaking! What a stunnning page! I enjoy seeing Clark as he gets rid of his civilian clothes and changes into his alter ego! And what a glorious splash at the bottom with Superman heroically soaring away, literally bursting out of the panel! Great pick-up! Congrats!
