DescriptionFor my FINAL Spidey Week post, here is a super-fun cover by Ryan Stegman from his wonderful run on Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows.I just love the idea of seeing the aftermath of an epic battle, where the three members of the Spider-Man family (Spider-Man, Spinneret and Spiderling) get to relax with some nice, greasy fairgrounds food. (I believe Peter is eating a corn dog, which is one of my guiltiest pleasures). Not only that, but they are actually perched on top of the prone, defeated body of their fallen foe, the Lizard! In addition, a seagull is calmly standing on the rapacious reptile's head. Gotta tell ya, I feel a little bad for ol' Lizzie. Because of delightfully silly moments like this, I am really gonna miss this title. Side Note: For those of you who know me well, and are wondering "Hey Paul, how can you do a Spidey Week theme without anything by Bagley??", do not fear! Next week, I am going to devote the entire week to this amazing artist. So stay tuned!! Social/Sharing |

I’m a huge fan of Stegman’s work especially when it’s done pencil and ink on one board, the old school way. Super fun Cover (not so fun for lizard though lol), love all the details, from the ticket booth to the rollercoaster and Ferris wheel in the background. Great Cover!

Ahhh, another great piece of art of the "This just represents FUN" variety! Love it, especially Spidey eating the Pogo. Oops, I forgot, you Americans call them "corn dogs".

Hey, I'm happy to call it a 'Pogo' as long as it disguises the fact that I am ingesting a sausage on a stick that has been coated in a thick layer of cornmeal better and deep fried. Actually, can I call it a "Freedom Weenie" or something patriotic like that?

Hahahahahhh! Hmmm .... I wonder if it was a Freudian Slip that in my previous comment I called it "cornmeal better." I mean, everything IS better when it's deep fried in cornmeal batter!

Full figure Superheros and a carnival in the background... Always a win! Especially the guy on the rollercoaster seems to have fun. Congrats, Paul

Great cover, Paul, for it's fun factor as well as how meticulously it was done by a mutual fave artist of ours in Stegs! I like how big the defeated Lizard is and this is one of my absolute fave images of Annie - love it. Congrats, man!
