What a jewel! It will shine even brighter with the stains removed,
What a gem! Gottfredson was one of the best cartoonists of his day! Good for you having this treasure restored and preserved!
What a wonderful daily...a very representative piece for your amazing collection!!! :-))
definitely a Grail piece!!!
love those early Gottfredson's Mickey Mouse strips with the long, beautiful, adventures...
Beautiful strip, one of the best I've seen from The Monarch of Medioka.
I think you should keep it without restoration, in my opinion the night scene would be "preserved" by the color of the glue, it would remain fascinating
It is a true treasure. Congrats!!!
Jeff, this looks fantastic! You should really be pleased with the work that Robert did on the MM daily. Now beautifully preserved for future generations. Well done, my friend!
Terrific!
I don't know who this other "Ruben" is who asked you to emphasize the word patina in all-caps, but even a half-wit knows that patina is an effect created by a cause, that cause being oxidation on METAL such as bronze or copper over a long period of time, NOT paper. You can also create patina artificially with different acids, which is how new furniture is aged to appear antique.
Any time you're unsure about correct usage of terminology, feel free to ask me. Unlike this other "Ruben" you speak of, who sounds to me like wolf in sheeps's clothing, I will lead you to the promised land, rather than astray. The late, great, Jiménez Jiménez will be turning over in his grave to see you led astray this way, Jeff. But I'm happy I'm still here to put you back on the path of wisdom, rather than the path of ignorance, which ultimately leads you to hell. 😘 🥰 😄
Look at Mickey being all smug. One would almost think Disney has money.
Nice one, and the restauration made it look even nicer - also when one considers a bit of patina into the mix. Gottfredson was at the top of his game in this story.
