Description

This is a hand-colored pinup page from the Berni Wrightson 1974 The Monsters Color The Creature Book. Berni was known to hand color the originals for an additional fee as well, but this is not the hand-drawn original artwork. It looks like it was pasted down to a thick backing board at some point and put inside of a white mat, and I have left it that way, since I don't really want to risk damaging it by trying to remove it, and it displays nicely. The colors are absolutely beautiful and really well done. It's a great image and I'm really loving the color work.

The colors look super! Strong Frazetta influence in the ground foliage and lower legs to my eye (reminds me of Tarzan on the lion Canavral plate) and the bleached bones at the base of the killer tree are a great touch.
