Description

This is the Original Art for the 1:25 Retailer Incentive Variant Cover of OUTLAWED #1 (May 2020); penciled and inked by super-star artist Cory Smith. This Cover is an homage to All-Star Squadron #1. In this one-shot Special, the U.S. Government **blackballs** The Champions!

It's incredible that 40 years after it was published, the classic Cover of All-Star Squadron #1 (Sept. 1981) by Rich Buckler and Dick Giordano still amazes and inspires.

Smith does inspired work himself. A fantastic way to get that many characters in a cover! But in the context of the title being Outlaws, are Captain America, Captain Marvel, and Spider-Man trying to hunt them down or form a new team? It has me tracking down the issue to find out more!

I'm liking that downward perspective shot, which of course was the choice on the Squadron cover! So yeah, nice homage :) Also love the detail Smith puts into his stuff, while still giving us that classic animated look. Congrats!

Ah no! That's Squirrel Girl in one of those photos! Ban her, and EVERYTHING would fall apart!
Really great homage cover, Fred, and fun to see a Marvel cover pop up in your collection. Especially one with Spidey!!
