DescriptionI thought I'd give a quick update on He-Man after 1.5 hours of work. As you can see I've taken some creative liberties and added some textural detail for his arm-guard (I'm hoping it's the right term for it). I've also done my best to accentuate He-Man's musculature based on what I learned from the book "Drawing Cutting Edge Anatomy." Basically not all veins have to involve connected lines. I'm also trying to minimize the hatching and feathering to indicate the light source is at the top of the page, but rest assured there will be deep blacks where necessary. I haven't touched the face or the hands yet because I'm not sold as to how I've rendered their nuances. I'm trying to strike a balance between what the reboot has established and the original toy. The big mistake that 1987 film made was thinking "It doesn't have to look like the toy." Uhmmmmm no, it kinda does. That being said, By the Power of Grayskull...Social/Sharing |
