Description
What If Set Had Come To Earth??? This comic rocked me pretty hard when I bought it off the newsstand in 1991. Marvel's What If? Vol 2 series tried to emulate the gritty realism of Alan Moore and Frank Miller's groundbreaking 80s work, but mostly just explored alternate worlds where heroes like Spider-Man, The Avengers, and the X-Men die violently. Sign me up! There is so much to love about this page, including the sweet zip-a-tone Set vs. The Phoenix Force; Sabretooth and Wolverine teaming up to fight Lizard Daredevil and Lizard Punisher; and the dialogue, sound effects, and thought balloons are lettered on the board rather than pasted up!
Thanks, Anthony, Rich and Brad!

I wonder if fanboys will be up in arms when they find out there's a species swapped Punisher in addition to a gender bent Female Punisher from actual comics.  Lizard Daredevil is also a welcomed surprise in a battle against classic Wolverine!  Levins really gives us enough What If? madness in one page fill a notebook full of more questions.

For some reason I don't remember this issue, but this art makes me want to go find it. There is all sorts of interesting stuff happening on this page. Thanks so much for sharing! Huge congrats!

Well, if he did, now we know Daredevil and Punisher would look really weird. What If was the best, and I cannot wait for the series. This is a perfect page from that series, too, with all the wonderful What If weirdness you could want. Congrats!

Same here. I read the print off this comic when it came out. Every page etched in memory. Great pick up.
