Even if the stick is a gloriously phallic rocket.

This sizzling sequence has Brennan the baldy make more I-bots to fight the I-bots while Killaine mounts a knobrocket which will explode and kill her. Such deep irony! I was in tears.

From Isaac Asimov's immortal series I-Bots, a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration between the legendary sci-fi author, with Howard Chaykin also at the ideas helm, scripted by Steven Grant, and with some excellent visuals by the solid art team of George Perez, Joe Rubinstein and Art Nichols.

Published by Tekno Comix in 1995, whose visionary founders hired the best of the best in many fields - including Neil Gaiman, Leonard Nimoy, Mickey Spillane and Gene Rodenberry - to create a connected universe of iconic characters which would weave a beguiling and brilliant web of stories which would live on forever in the hearts and minds of an adoring comic book fandom.

Tekno comix sadly was discontinued in 1997 after giving the world a slew of titles which would influence creators for generations to come, but their legend lives on as Hollywood Media Corp, which owns and manages Tekno Comix intellectual property. I personally can not WAIT until the powers that be in Hollywood bring these magnificent and criminally underrated franchise-creators-in-the-making to the Big Screen!

This page is signed by Art Nichols, which means I can swap it for a big house one day.

And Perez' art makes my eyeballs happy 😁😁😁

Loving the metaphorical musings, Marcus - to be honest, it's all about the sweet Perez style though! Perez is a creator whose work has been consistently excellent over several decades of work and to my mind, every layout and line is pure gold.
