Description
Cover dated October 1998. From a Steve Englehart story.

Abell has gone on to a career in animation and has done some wonderful Star Trek prints in recent years, but in the 1990s he was utilizing his talents in the comic book field, where he did some impressive work for DC Comics.

I like the “KILL BALLOON!” note on the page, but I do wonder what the balloon did to deserve to die.

What a page! Love the Bat's shot at the Riddler in panel 2. Comedic and yet brutal at once. Congrats!

"kill balloon!" was what the editor wanted her to say.  The must have misinterpreted it and removed it all together.  It was the answer to the Riddler's question, "Riddle me this crap crusader, What can be blown up and what happens when you blow it up?"

That's worthy of Frank Gorshin himself!
