Description
I was lucky enough to get this in the July Doodle drop from Chris Samnee. I love the composition and how Samnee can show so much with simple detail in a small space (4x6").

Hope to get a commission from Samnee at some point, but for now I am happy with this!

One of the best out there today.  The style which he brings to the characters show a joy and spirit to them with pen and brush.

Agreed, so much with so little.

Fast fingers! This scan looks fantastic - one can never have enough Samnee and he's one of those artists whose version of every character is perfect (like Cheung and Rivera, imo). Another gem in your collection!

Thanks Casey - I've missed several Samnee's I've gone for in the past, so yeah I was lucky I got this.

The low key genius in this piece is the white border on the right acting like a building which Spidey’s hand is curling around. Excellent work from Samnee.

Agreed, the strong lines of the costume of the black to white lead your eye through the piece as well. Samnee is a master.

Fast fingers for a fantastic sketch by an amazing artist! I love Samnee's design sense. I'd love to see him do a story with Spidey! Huge congrats!

Yes, I got lucky with this! I've missed quite a few Samnee's so this one is extra sweet.

My Spidey Sense was tingling. Samnee really packed thoughtful tricks into this small piece. I love his take on Spidey Power, and how he used it as the reason for him to wander into this scene. And, as alluded to in the comment, the tiny detail of hand placement (and a great drop shadow choice) sets the background while drawing no background. That is a very nice trick. Cool doodle. :) Congrats!

Completely agree with you. The less is more and removal of background to make background and foreground is just great. This is a great doodle. I aspire to commission Samnee for a larger piece some day. Thanks!
