Damage Control #4, page 8 (2nd series) (Nick Fury)

There’s a lot going on in this issue, but then Dwayne McDuffie knew how to craft great stories while juggling multiple characters (the Justice League Unlimited cartoon is all the proof you need for that). On this page, Mrs. Hoag stops Dittomaster (in disguise as Henry Gyrich), with her old flame Nick Fury stepping in with the assist.

Stan Drake and Marie Severin are the credited inkers on this issue, but I’m not sure which of those two legends did what on this page.

The three Damage Control minis are worth checking out if you missed them the first time around three decades ago (I actually didn’t read them myself until 2001).
